Akubra Snowy River Hat Black

I'm very pleased with the Hat my only disappointment was, as a Pom I had to get it posted to the U.K. and for the first time I had to pay a customs tax($24aud). I've bought many items recently and over the years from Oz including Hats and never paid custom tax. YES , SOME TIMES CUSTOMS CHECK AND IMPOUND PACKAGES. YOU HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO GET AWAY WITH IT BEFORE AS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO PAY IMPORT TAXES TO UK BUT IT SEEMS THAT ITS NOT ALL THE TIME. THANKS MANAGEMENT.

My brother owns a few Stetsons and got me my first one. It lasted a good while but quickly lost it’s shape. I wanted a genuine, locally produced Western style hat.
After reviewing a few options, Akubra seemed to tick all the boxes.
In the meanwhile, my brother purchased one under my nose. When it came, I compared the quality and craftsmanship to the others in his collection, we both had to agree these were very good.
I couldn’t wear his one (I have a giant cranium), so I got this one.

The fit was comfortably tight the first few weeks with a hot spot on my forehead (my head is both big & long), but it literally “moulded” itself to my head.
It’s my favourite item of clothing and only comes off at work, in the shower and during supper time.
It has held it’s shape. It fits. It’s quality surpasses all of my brother’s more expensive hats.

I purchased the Akubra hat for my sister for Christmas, she absolutely loves it and has worn it every time I've seen her since :) I was really impressed with the delivery time and packaging, really quick and very secure packaging. I would definitely buy from this website again and recommend to others. Cheers, Ellie

Nice style, but low quality. its a kiddie hat. Do you sell it in a higher quality?
I once had a snowy river hat before, loved it the quality was great. Bought this one, quality sucks, so, I'll keep looking.

The hat is as advertised. Since it's an Akubra, you know it's good quality. As for the delivery, even though the box it came in was a bit banged up, the hat was undamaged due to the way it was packed. So i don't think there is any need to worry about any shipping issues.
The only downside is that even though i opted for the 3-5 day delivery option to the UK, the parcel spent almost two weeks in customs. Dispatch was quite quick, arriving in the UK only 2 days after placing the order, but it got stuck in customs. I really wish there was an option to not use Parcelforce as a delivery service.
