Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed with Every Purchase at Australian Gear. We happily offer a returns for 60 days from the date of purchase.

You can choose between

  • A cash refund ( Max $ 500 ) back to your original payment method. ( less postage costs and a $15 restocking fee )  OR 
  • A store credit in the form of an electronic gift card; valid for 3 years.

Conditions of return

  • Items must be returned in original condition with all swings tags and care labels still attached
  • Items must be unworn, unused, no stains or makeup marks
  • Returns must be initiated within 60 days of purchase date
  • Orders valued at AUD $500 and over, an online store credit will be issued, which remains valid for up to 36 months.

Exchanges

To ensure a more efficient process, we no longer offer traditional exchanges. If you need a different size or colour, we recommend placing a new order. This way, you'll receive the right items faster.

For your protection, we recommend using a trackable shipping method, as we cannot refund lost, stolen, or damaged packages in transit.

Items Not Eligible for Processing

The following items will not be processed for returns:

  • Products with removed tags or that have been worn or washed.
  • Products with packaging damaged to the extent that it renders the product unsaleable.
  • Sale or clearance items (eligible for Store Credit only).
  • Custom-made products.

Refund on Delivery Costs

Delivery costs, including the costs of returning items, are non-refundable.

The Refund Process

Once we receive your return, you can expect a refund within 7 days in the form of a cash refund or a store credit. You will receive an email confirmation when the refund has been processed. The processing times for different payment methods are as follows:

  • Credit cards: Up to 7 days
  • PayPal: Approximately 24 hours
  • AfterPay: Approximately 5 days

All refunds are reversed into the original payment method used for the order. Refunds will be made less shipping fees and a flat-rate restocking fee of AUD $15 for cash refunds. For orders valued at AUD $500 and over, an online store credit will be issued.

Why is there a restocking fee for cash refunds?
The AUD$15 restocking fee for refunds helps cover credit card charges and the process of cleaning, pressing, and steaming items before restocking them for resale. All returned hats must be steamed for hygiene purposes.

Will my postage be refunded?
No, postage costs are not included in your cash or store-credit refund. However, if you have received a faulty, incorrect, or damaged item, we will gladly reimburse you for return delivery costs. Contact our customer support team for further instructions.

Are customers responsible for return postage costs?
Yes, customers are responsible for all return postage costs, which vary depending on the chosen service and company. A AUD$15 restocking fee applies to customers requesting a cash refund instead of an online store credit.

Can I drop my online return at one of your retail stores?
While you're welcome to drop off your return at one of our retail stores, please note that in-store refunds cannot be processed for online orders. The return will be sent back to our head office for processing.
