I got these as part of a hat care bundle.
My new Akubra Cattleman was a fraction on the big size, and one of these, tucked under the back of the sweat band, resulted in a perfect fit.
I DO think they're a bit expensive for what they are though, even at the reduced price.
Should you are in need to reduce your actual hat size a bit down-why not try out with these most probably it will work and put one of these back and another light weight cork or felt pad front both under the sweatband keep em in place and wear the hat some period down the road and see the result- one half or a full size down these will help to correct
